Periodic Safety Control of track systems, trolleys, suspended platforms with steel ropes and suspension points, shall be preformed every year by authorized personnel. Access systems which have not been inspected during the last 12 months should not be used.

AMV inspectors are authorized to preform certification of new installations and periodic inspection on existing access systems in Norway. Other countries will have their own personnel authorised to do this type of inspections.These inspectors will be experts on local regulations as well as international directives and standards (Europe: EN 1808) on suspended access systems. 

Even though the installation is used infrequently,the complete system shall be serviced and inspected at leased once a year. The equipment should be marked with deadline for when next inspection should take place.
